I think it was @amalelmohtar.com who once said (I paraphrase) that a novella was a long short story but a novelette was a short novel. fight! fight! fight!

one thing I appreciate about this game is the contrast between the male and female love interests

Her dialogue box describes her as the Scourge of the Seas, which is honestly a bit of a stretch, but she IS sort of hot if you're into vaguely pathetic musicians with one-sided rivalries. Her dialogue reads: "Pff, no! Why would I feel any of those things, especially about you, lady? It's called a fictionalized work? And besides, Jetty mostly wrote that one."

In the background is one of her beautiful silk weavings - orange with purple-white flowers. Her dialogue is, like, right out of Jane Austen: "I've kept on thinking, my friend... about how I've been drawn to you. Like a fly to one of my webs... Except I mean to catch them, and I don't think you've meant to do the same to me."

There's a heart-shaped loop in one strand of hair because she's extra like that. She also has a huge fuck-off spear and a shield, because she IS at war. She's dazzling. Anyway. Her dialogue reads: "Were you expecting someone far less beautiful, or did you somehow know it was me? Perhaps you could hear my heart beating all the way from where you are!"

Her three little bird friends are in attendance and she's got a teasing smile for Melinoë. Her dialogue reads: "Oh! Have all my tales of Callisto piqued your interest there, Melinoë? Because I'm open to sharing, and I know SHE is." I should clarify for the record that Artemis and Melinoë have an entirely platonic relationship, but Artemis DOES have a thing with Nemesis, who maybe has a thing with Melinoë, who has a thing with like three other people, and honestly the result is a truly marvelous polycule that this margin is too narrow to contain.

all the women want melinoë. even the ones who aren't actually in the game.
