这项研究由汽车研究公司 iSeeCars 开展,所有车辆每行驶十亿英里的致命事故总发生率为 2.8,但特斯拉汽车的整体发生率为 5.6。特斯拉 Model Y SUV 的致命事故率为 10.6,是 SUV 平均事故率(4.8)的两倍多。
