Why didn't Haaland get a second yellow for the foul?

This guy is meant to be a serious journalist.

The Telegraph was once a serious newspaper.

This is just ragebait.

Profoundly shady.

Long long prison term for Mandelson, hopefully.

Might it bring down Starmer?

Who is most likely to have leaked this, Arsenal or Tonali's agent?

This sounds like the outcome of one of those interminable pub conversations.

Might just work, tbh.

Also, from a more practical perspective, why watch another team if you find it boring?

Just change the channel, surely?

Our capacity style tends to cause PL teams to play in a low block, thus open play goals harder to come by, thus set pieces play greater role in goal getting.

CL teams don't tend to respond to Arsenal by sitting in a low block and, unsurprisingly we score more and win more.

People endlessly droning on about this... Yawn.

Really wanted to see Eze start today, but Havertz making this a 44mf2 is bringing tears to my eyes, so there's that.

Plus, that bench is πŸ”₯.

Why aren't you watching Benfica v Real Madrid?

I might be understanding your question.

If you mean did I feel some kind of kinship in relation to Qatar and Russia hosting big sports events then yes, I did.

For the same reason I think, that an injustice anywhere is no less an injustice because it is geographically distant.

Minneapolis live: Man, 37, shot dead by federal agents in Minneapolis The shooting follows days of protests in the city over the Trump administration's immigration enforcement operation.

Entries are absurdly unbalanced, to favour US govt false statements, in a scenario where "sharply contested" both sides reporting would be highly inadequate

BBC are here being a real time conduit of the misinformation that they say their mission is to verify+counter

The BBC coverage is absolutely terrible.

It leads on "sharply contested narratives"

It has a dramatic skew to the US government

It has posted the video but has failed to report on what it shows: it shows the US govt account is untrue

I could put it other way around and say it is US centric to think this is only about internal US politics.

I am a Londoner in Lusaka, Zambia just to add context.

My reaction to what is going on is to feel a sense of kinship with Americans who are suffering. It doesn't feel like it is just about America's internal politics. It feels bigger than that.

Sample of one, obviously. YMMV.

I have an inescapable sense that what is currently happening to white people resisting federal agents in the US has been happening to non-white people for beyond as long as I can remember.

Maybe things have to reach this point for substantive societal change to take place?

In my most optimistic moments (I am a naive romantic after all) I hope that this new social compact might usher in a kind political environment, and with it, a kinder life.

The most positive thing I can think about right now is that there are going to be Americans of many different backgrounds who will (following this dark period) feel more akin to one another than they did before it.

It seems to me that where we are now was foretold by black people decades ago, but there is this phenomenon of things not mattering quite so much until they affect a person directly and that seems to be playing out.

The mother of a friend of mine would take her sons to meet the local police (this was in Stoke, in the 70 and 80s) once they got to be teenagers so the police would be less likely to brutalize them.

This reminds of the way black parents give advice to their kids on how to survive being black in a majority white environment.

I have only just moved over from X.

The thread you initiated with your post had convinced me to stick with it.

All your statements resonate really strongly with me, and there is much to appreciate about that.

Thank you.

Alvarez at winger or inside forward? Or to play up front? I don't see us shifting Havertz or Gyok to make room for another 9.

The market for wingers / wide forwards this summer is going to be really something.

Could be looking at Diomande, Yildiz, Vinicius, Barcola, Rodrygo, Bahoya moving.

Arsenal only need one.

I am hoping Kai will be our first choice for most important games, with Gyokeres and Jesus subs to be brought on for different game states and types of opposition.
