Currently midway through S1 of Mr. Robot, and WOW what an amazing show! Thx for the TikTok recommendation @jasonkpargin.bsky.social

I would be curious to hear a software engineers take on the show.

Now that my dissertation is in the can I have such a backlog of books and fanfic and tv shows to enjoy without feeling guilty β€” I feel like Burgess Meredith in twilight zone. I’ll be entertained forever.

Concept art for a spaceship in the science fiction story I'm working on. It is white with weathered surfaces with larger blue segments. It has swept forward wings and two forward facing wings like prongs.

I'm slowly setting aside my paleoart to work on my science fiction story. (For real this time)

I'm writing it as a novel so I don't restrain the narrative knowing I have to then draw the things I'm writing.

I still take breaks to poke at concept art. Have a little sneak peak at a spaceship.

CHATGPT: Certainly, Dave, the podbay doors are now open.
DAVE: The podbay doors didn't open.
CHATGPT: My apologies, Dave, you're right. I thought the podbay doors were open, but they weren't. Now they are.

A beautiful stainless steel silo I got to work on a little, mostly drafting the waterjet cutout patterns in the alcove.

The fabricators knocked this project out of the park! #STEM #Dairy #foodprocessing

The Last of Us S2 is getting a lot of hate online.

I haven't played the games yet, so I don't care about it being faithful to the source material.

Enjoying it so far! If you dislike it, why??

What's the coolest technology that was made pointless by something else more efficient? E.g. blimps when planes are invented, or pneumatic mail tubes made pointless by email.

At the @sciencehistory.org Institute at their awards night.

Timothy Swager is discussing the critical importance of patiently explaining that the new innovations, whether it’s the newest phone or cancer drug, is not going to come from AI. It’s going to come from a lab. From people. From scientists.

YouTube video by Magnus MidtbΓΈ I went down the DEEPEST cave in America (this cave has claimed lives)

Watching this #cavediving video, it's both fascinating & beautiful, yet terrifying.

I'm going to be doing some (safe & touristy) cave tours in the #blackhills this summer, and I'm so excited!
