It’s why I’m such a huge fan of folks like @newslit.org and others in the media literacy space.

You’re making a really good point - most misinfo we see isn’t complex and wouldn’t take a lot to check. In this case, it’s just watching the footage.

But because it’s emotive and the shock factor involved, folks tend to share without taking that step back.
