GMB is nominating Bridget Phillipson, our member of 20 years, for Labour Deputy Leader.
Labourโs pledge to reinstate the School Support Staff Negotiating Body is vital. GMB represents over 100,000 school support staff.
We look forward to Bridget delivering on Labourโs promise.

Actually jaw dropping from James McMurdock MP, even by his standards. We cannot become numb to this.
The far right are in Parliament, and they're trying to normalise outright, vicious racism (same goes for the likes of Rupert Lowe too)

Some 500 swimming pools have closed across England since 2010.
This is a terrifying legacy of Conservative austerity: children less likely to learn a valuable life skill.

We've seen a very big increase in acceptances at high tariff universities - likely to fill gaps in their budgets (with big Qs of what that will mean for the student experience) - but lower tariff universities just can't do the same - this isn't a sustainable situation.

The Polari book prize Longlist, with no books withdrawn by authors.
Keeping track of people withdrawing from the Polari Prize Longlist over the inclusion of proud self-described "TERF" John Boyne.
Let me know as we get updates on authors pulling their books in protest.

Wages not based on ages has long been GMB's mantra.
You don't pay less rent if you're young. Your food bill isn't lower.
Today's news that an end is coming to age-bands in minimum wage laws is massive.
This government listens to workers. And acts.

He voted against ending fire and rehire.
He voted against sick pay from day 1.
He wants to privatise the NHS.
We see you.

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.
Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. Itโs not intellectually superior. Itโs the virus theyโre trying to infect us with. NO

Children's Wellbeing Bill
I spoke tonight in favour of the Children's Wellbeing Bill, and set out why I couldn't support the Tories' amendment.
They tried to scrap a law to keep children safe.
Badenoch even used this vote to raise money for the Tory Party. It's disgusting, gutter politics. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfYS...
