Thank you for posting! Do you have a generic ballot data that specific to "most motivated" or something similar that you had a few months back?

Good piece Nick! Then there’s the matter of β€œbe careful what you wish for” which Nixon pushing Burns to lower rates, Trump pushing lower rates today, and that results in higher inflation or even rates rising at the long end of the Treasury Curve, which could cause serious havoc in Treasury markets!

Great point! Do you see Mark Carney’s papers back in his CB days on β€œSynthetic Hegemonic Currency” along these lines ?

Amazing passion Alex! You have a ton of heart. Would love to interview you on the Paradigm Shock Podcast, focusing more on your AI and tech regulation work, but we can talk about broad Paradigm Shifts in general. I hope you or your staff reach out!

Fantastic summary of the”three legged stool” of dominant current status - it’s core β€œreserve” or β€œAsset”s that get more off the attention, but the other 2 are arguably more critical to its lock-in. Next, we need some type of β€œtrilemma” to explain this further, ideally in your trademark β€œdad joke” !

Could be in for a major Paradigm Shift (or Shock) if moves like this start to spread a d cascade

Agreed! I’ve said for years that as digital technologies become β€œubiquitous” it ironically drives a dynamic where other things like domain expertise, physical world emotions, beauty or other things I’ll broadly call β€œcontextual”, becomes more important. They become everything!

Wow! Double wow considering it’s Atlas Intel- unless of course they are over correcting based on being the worst pollster in the 2025 election, which we shouldn’t rule out either!

Spot on! It’a possible that in retrospect it will be seen as THE inflection point that changed the trend. It already looks that way seeing how things have trended the last 3 weeks

My guess is that some of the worst polls were sampling very poorly. To the extent they are transparent, they were assuming an electorate that looked like 2024, which was a poor assumption

Professor @jonmladd.bsky.social now it appears the polls had a massive 8 to 9 point miss in NJ and still very significant 4.5 to 5.0 point miss in VA, so quite a bit worse than the polling misses in 2016/20/24.

Great job Elliot! State Navigate seems to have done a fine job, along with your former employer over at the Economist/YouGov, and Zogby this morning even in NJ. Now please come up with a pollster rating for these crapsters like Quantus, Atlas, Emerson, Insider, etc

05.11.2025 05:01 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Would love to see you start a pollster rating, after their wild misses, especially in NJ and most especially with these really "Sus" pollsters that you are well aware of. Even Emerson which I gather is a professional outfit, but they seem to lean really right in recent years, especially in NJ Gov
