Here we are testing if low-tunnels can help us evaluate tolerance to freeze damage after jointing for different #wheat varieties. The low-tunnel gets the plots into reproductive growth earlier.🀞 Then we remove the tunnel to expose them to cold temps.

Speaking of residue, wheat after soybean is recommended to reduce wheat head scab risk. But corn residue can stick around and I’ve always wondered how much this old corn contributes to scab risk.

Our yield trials are off to a good start.

Some non-uniform emergence in some trials due to heavier residue in spots + dry conditions after planting. We all know variation in soil fertility is a key cause of error in trials, but I think variation in residue is another big one.
