huh, options makes cheesing very easy. Anki you can always "lie to yourself" but then it's up to you to determine what "Good" and "Again" mean
if you are interested in testing this I can set up a host for you. It's still early phase but would be good to have an intermediate Chinese speaker test it.

Interesting. Maybe it's good that you are exposed to more stuff instead of reaching "local minima" (for ex. one of the first words I learned was park: ๅ
ฌๅญ and now I have 35 cards with that word)
However introducing random Mandarin mixed in can be daunting as it's almost impossible to deduce meaning

I saw it but I really like Anki's algorithm and also how customizable it is (for example the images are also generated)
Also I wanted something more tailored for me where words/sentenced are generated using my mature cards (Krashen's i -> i+1 principle)

LLMs are an amazing tool for language learning though. I think most Anki power users advocate against it but we are reaching a point where they make so few new mistakes when it comes to producing language

Reason being that many words aren't supporting words for learning other things and you simply need more exposure to those words in other settings

I think this works specially well with #chinese because Chinese is overall a language where you rely mostly on learning vocabulary for acquisition, grammar is simple
However one thing I've noticed is that using Cloze cards doesn't enforce my reading skills

It's been about 3 months and I have about 700 ish cards? I haven't really got too deep into reading or listening to native content as I want to build more vocabulary but this has been very effective for me
