Running out of ways to explain that we should care about other people

18.11.2025 19:18 β π 1903 π 348 π¬ 836 π 501there's a moment in PARADISE LOST where Satan arrives in Eden and realizes Hell isn't a place; it's a thing he carries within him and it'll follow him wherever he goes. and i think about that when i see these awful rich men whose monstrous wealth has enriched them not at all

10.11.2025 07:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Promotional image of Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein and Jacob Elordi as the creature standing back to back.
I really loved GDTβs Frankenstein, but I will warn people it makes the subtext of childabuse and parental neglect text.
Victor is both verbally and physically abusive similar to how many kids, especially disabled ones, are abused.
Be careful and pass this on to anyway who might be impacted.
This is why this surrender isn't just about this narrow issue but is rather the whole constitutional ballgame:
Democrats are affirmatively signaling they do not want political power at the same time Trump is transitioning the political system into an autocratic one wherein they're denied it forever
the thing that upsets me about this the most is that Dems had all the momentum, republicans were reeling, and we were getting intra-GOP fighting over the filibuster, all while voters were blaming republicans for their incompetence
this destroys all of this. just a total gut punch
We can't vote Schumer out until 2028 but we can make him being the senate majority leader a litmus test for 2026 candidates. Every single Dem senate candidate should be forced to go on the record and state they will not vote for him as majority leader.
10.11.2025 04:17 β π 1892 π 381 π¬ 36 π 16I think tonight shows why βmoderate to win electionsβ is a real risk
the big divide in the Dem caucus, as many have noted, has been less moderate vs progressive than fight versus donβt fight
but itβs not a coincidence that basically everyone in the βdonβt fightβ camp is a moderate
the minute flights got canceled, Dems folded like a house of cards, leaving me to wonder why the fuck this post made some of you so angry
10.11.2025 03:41 β π 2970 π 576 π¬ 9 π 11itβs moments like today that make it really clear that it was imperative for zohran mamdani to oust andrew cuomo and prevent all these republican-lites from controlling anything

10.11.2025 03:08 β π 2001 π 325 π¬ 70 π 9The fact that none of the 8 Dems are up for re-election in 2026 is a pretty good sign @schumer.senate.gov engineered the surrender

serious note: they're gonna try 5x harder to sabotage the midterms after tonight and we're gonna have to organize on a literally historic scale to stop them

That's the NYC we know and love. It has found expression in this movement. And it is rising up at the ballot box today.

really important element of this basically total victory is that it puts the fear of god in republican incumbents and may bring the redistricting push to a total halt
05.11.2025 04:07 β π 11641 π 1308 π¬ 150 π 96Don't forget that Zohran Mamdani spent his entire campaign standing proudly beside the trans community. He went to trans rights rallies just to show support. He proudly waved trans rights flags without hesitation. He refused to back down in support of trans rights. That makes me happy.
05.11.2025 02:35 β π 14306 π 3351 π¬ 68 π 59I'm happy that Mamdani won. But I won't let that get in the way of my celebrating Cuomo losing.
