Biomechanical mech that grows armor like lobsters grow shells. The armor gets thicker over time until it sheds and grows new armor, becoming lighter but less well defended while it regrow. It grows larger with each shedding, eventually becoming too heavy to operate outside of zero-G environments.

Currently in my Blades in the Dark campaign: The crew is trying to frame the Chief of Operations of the Ministry of Preservation for the assassination of the Chief Commissioner of the City Watch (which one of the crew committed).

Hellow I am writing to raise my concerns, disappointment, and frustration with ALA President Sam Helmick’s recent statement identifying themself as a Republican, and call upon them to apologize and resign as ALA President. It is inappropriate and unproductive for a member of the Republican party of the US to be the president of the ALA, especially right now as the Republican-led US government is dismantling libraries and other public services, targeting immigrants, people of colour, and transgender people, stifling freedom of speech, and spreading misinformation. Were it any other organization doing these things, it would be disgraceful for ALA’s president to align themself with this group, and it is even more inappropriate given that this is the ruling political party in the United States. How many ALA members are being directly harmed by their actions? The actions of the Republican party also do not align with Sam’s own values according to their statement that “The collective efforts of ALA members and library workers around the globe empower communities, enrich lives, and safeguard the principles of open knowledge and free expression.” ALA’s leader identifying as a member of either political party also compromises ALA’s independence. As a Canadian member of ALA, I do not feel comfortable being represented by an organization that is aligned with the US government, especially considering president Donald Trump’s statements about my country. I am especially concerned because ALA’s accreditation is effectively the only way people can be recognized for their library degrees here. For the body responsible for this accreditation to be aligned with the Republican party is deeply inappropriate. If action is not taken to rectify this situation, I will cancel my ALA membership. I understand that ALA is in an extremely difficult position, but attempting to appeal to the oppressive and authoritarian government will only allow them to do more harm.

In undergrad my roommate downloaded a bunch of fantasy B movies for a movie night. Deathstalker 3 finished downloading first so we watched it first, then watched 1 and had the dawning realization that 50% of Deathstalker 3 is reused footage from Deathstalker 1.

Less effective is when it introduces 'sligs' then spends a paragraph describing what a slig is (a cross between a slig and a pig) just so a character can compare someone to one as an insult.

Heretics of Dune isn't very good, but it does do one brillaint thing where it introduces something called a 'chairdog' that characters sit in, and never tells you what exactly a chairdog is except that it is definitely alive. Horrifying.
