A few years later came fhe launch of Dave as a TV channel aimed at men and fearing the worst. Well when you had Men and Motors, and Nuts TV, that wasn't surprising.

Was just reminded of TV channel Men and Motors, which was utterly bizarre. Did I imagine it or did one programme consist of a couple visiting a lingerie shop together in the first half, then the woman doing an "erotic" dance in the second? So odd.

I was wondering this just the other day. The one sketch show that looked like it could issue in a renaissance of sketch shows, and nothing...

Natasia too busy? Or something else?

I am intrigued by that price label. Was it £2.50 or fifty pence less?

The store I worked in 30 years ago is now a Morrisons who still remain big on the counter front. Although I am regularly surprised the current owners haven't started closing them on mass.

There's only one supermarket near me that has a sushi counter and I don't go in it enough to see how it does. Only counter at the smallish local Asda is for pizza one, which feels like it makes more sense than sushi. But it's not staffed like it used to be.

Couple of years ago I was on holiday and one of the supermarkets was boasting about how they got fresh fish from a nearby port, delivered TWICE A DAY. You just can't imagine that ever happening in Britain, even somewhere like Waitrose.

Meanwhile go to France and even in the smaller supermarkets you'll find counters galore, and quite likely a tank of fresh crabs and lobsters for good measure.

Was thinking about the discount supermarket I worked in 30 years ago. Food Giant had a cafe, bakery and deli counters, a meat counter with a proper butchers department behind it. Now you'll be hard pressed to find those things in most standard supermarkets.

Would be a prom now.

Was driving one night and ended to driving past multiple stretch limos going towards the local high school. This depresses me.

I didn't clock that was AI. I did glance at it and wondered what on earth was supposed to be going on in it. And why did everyone look so similar? Should have realised.

I have never been able to apply one without getting some tiny speck of dust underneath, or some ridiculously sized air bubble. So I gave up using them.

Only had this phone a few weeks and yet I have somehow managed to get two very big, deep scratches on the screen 😞

Was amazed they did it in the first place but assumed they had the figures and data to justify it. And hey, maybe they thought they did. But it's clearly not working so far.

No, really? Who would have thought replacing XS Manchester on FM with a station with no breakfast or drivetime show, would mean it would completely tank?

So did i, but I think it makes more sense for the novel to be that way, and the TV too me mixed in. It's like you are Susan Ryeland reading the book.

Every now and then I think of that film, which I haven't seen for a very long time. Yet "The result of this swindle is pointedly clear: Do you buy a Titsling or do you buy a Brassiere?" Has stayed with me all these years.

Anthony Horowitz being an acclaimed screenwriter, he also wrote the TV version of the book, but there's subtle differences between the two. Not just that the novel is in two halves - you read the whole Pünd novel first, then enter the modern age.

After loving the TV series, finally got round to reading the original novel, and frankly I can not read it without hearing Daniel Mays's voice every time Chubb says "Herr Pünd!"

Was thinking earlier how perverse it is that Trump presumably has no problem with all the ugliness of oil extraction, yet a turbine fills him with hate. I decided it's because one single turbine has more grace and elan than he can ever dream of having.

I am regularly amazed we don't see people like that in ditches more often. It's amazing they stay alive.

You may not be surprised to learn they had a personalised numberplate.

Of course, eventually there is a gap in the middle lane. And obviously having had multiple flashing lights on my eyes from the Speed Demon, I indicate for absolutely ages before moving. And then watch as they finally get to go the speed they wanted. About 1mph faster than we were going 🤷‍♂️

Driving on a busy motorway today. Ended up in the outside lane and I am going at the limit of 70. Car in front going 70. Car in the middle lane matching my speed. So obviously the car behind me starts flashing their lights at me because I am going "too slow"

Well, we'll just ask the AI to fix the bugs. Job done!

Just seen the suggestion we need some sort of Live Aid thing for Gaza. Thus completely missing the point that this isn't a money/famine/crop failure thing, but a clear and deliberate block by the Israeli government on food getting to people.

There's another tomorrow too. Weird
