Back in 1983 Wales Today did a report on Cardiff's CBC producing a freesheet that upset the local free paper, filming(!) me and top news chap Jon Hawkins at West Canal Wharf recreating a news bulletin.

On 1, Newsround was on from 16.59/50 to 17.07/43. According to the archive notes, "Newsround was the first BBC TV prog to report the Challenger disaster".

I was annoyed by one book I bought last year. I thought about contacting the author but then thought they may not be happy.
I ended up recycling it, as if I'd given it away whoever got it would probably not have noticed the errors and then thought this stuff was correct. Sigh.

I loved that Dalek story. I got Countdown from the start, but as an 8-year-old a lot of it went over my head. I re-read them all years later and realised how ahead of its time it was.

CBC, the ILR station in Cardiff. We were told they were going to be Motown's "next big thing". It had a catchy chorus that didn't sound bad on daytime at the time.

I remember playing that on the wireless as a new release. That was the only track of theirs the station playlisted.

BLOG UPDATE! I've gone and made a full rundown of the fifty TV programmes that have been broadcast most frequently throughout 2025. With the bonus added prize of revealing which FOUR television programmes appeared on all four BBC channels in 2025. brokentv.uk/2025/12/28/t...

For me it was more the drop-off before each episode of EastEnders that astonished me. It's about time they had a rethink with that scheduling.
