Heh. MVS (Maritime Volunteer Service) was good fun, but it was too much like Dad's Army. In my fifties, and I was referred to by them all as 'the Lad.' If I was going to play the Private Pike part then I at least wanted a tommy gun.

I once wrote a cron job with a little script to automatically change the time on a UNIX machine at 0200. Worked perfectly. & again the next day after I forgot to delete it. It was the custody system & a load of prisoners got out an hour early. I had an interview without coffee 😊

I was knocked over (walking pace, no injury or damage) by a woman in a convertible on a congested dual carriageway. She tried to dive into a gap, had the cheek to say it was my fault as she couldn't hear me! I'm afraid my language was atrocious 😊

A & B roads with full regen is such fun, never touch the brakes, you end up riding so smoothly, concentrating on positioning. My wife is an IAM examiner (ex Met traffic officer) she keeps nicking my Zero in preference to her S1000XR 😊

Ace! The acceleration is like someone's put you in a football and booted it really hard. It's hard to describe it to someone who hasn't experienced it. Leaves me giggling every time I ride it. With top notch suspension/brakes, riding twisty roads is pure joy 😊

Inktober. The Crown Inn is my old local in Kelty, Fife. Haven't been there for many years, done from memory.

Nah, when you're 60 you can get away with blue haired murder. My daughter still thinks I'm cool, I used to pick her up from school on my Ducati. Still got that all these years on 😎

Understandable. I've had my SR/F for two years now. In 45 years of riding every kind of bike it's the best bike I've ever ridden.

Having said that about Christmas tree bauble Harleys, my Guzzi isn't exactly a shy retiring wallflower. Hypocrite? Moi? 😊

I bought my Sportster as it was cheap, I'd never ridden a cruiser, and wanted something slow to trundle around on while I recovered from cancer treatment. I'm not a fan of the Christmas tree bauble look of most Harleys, so the ratty flat tracker look of mine appealed. V. reliable so far 😊

I have neither. I've never actually owned a Suzuki. Or an Indian.

In the office early one morning I was ordered to the Cologne office by a ranting CEO to fix a network problem I'd already spotted & could have fixed from my desk in 10 mins. "Don't come back until it's fixed!" Flew business class, stayed in the Hotel Maritim for 3 days.

Now, here's a thing. We've had my wife's cousin Dave & his wife Jumana over from Canada this week. Their daughter is Julia Schell, full back in the Canadian rugby team. My poor wife is torn between who to cheer for in the final. Family or country. Me, not so much 😈

A bat nearly killed me once. Beautiful Summer night riding home along country lanes, BANG! Nearly took my head off. Cracked my visor, ended up binning the helmet as bits of bat guts, leathery skin etc in all the nooks & crannies.

Morning! Sunsets are good, but sunrises are gooder. Something primaeval about watching the sun come up out of the sea.

And I'll do Lotus Domino server, Novell and PICK while I'm at it 😊

I can beat that. Did a contract for a small firm that had changed employees & owners several times. Found they had an AS400 that had been sealed off behind a plasterboard wall & not touched or backed up for over 5 years.
