I know this isn’t the most pressing thing, but the amount of times Mr Rogers has been mentioned in the last two wks alone is why they’re trying to cancel PBS. They told us we could be good people and we believed them, and good people are hard to control. They don’t want any more good people.

Trent: They are doing those today. It’s called the ICE protests

FOX: Are they talking about Iran at the ICE protests?

Trent: No, I think they are talking about the regime that is shooting people in the face

IF ICE AGENTS SHOW UP AT YOUR DOOR: 1) You do not have to open the door. If you do, stay calm – you have rights. 2) Ask what day are there for (and ask for an interpreter if you need one). 3) if they ask to enter, ask if they have a warrant SIGNED BY A JUDGE and if so, ask see it (through a window or slipped under the door). 4) if they force their way in, do not resist. Tell everyone in the residence to remain silent. 5) if you are arrested, you have the right to remain silent. Do not sign anything until you speak with a lawyer.

Our three students who were taken by ICE were doing everything right. They had declared themselves to immigration judges, attended court on their assigned dates, and were following the legal process. They are not criminals. They have no ties to any criminal activity. They are loved in their classrooms. Their family has worked at the nearby "Old McDonald's" petting zoo and dairy farm for 15 years. They lived in a house on the same road as a home ICE had a warrant for. The fact that ICE went door to door is unfathomable. The fact that our students were handcuffed and put into the same van as the alleged criminal from down the street is unconscionable. When I think of my third grader's experience, my stomach twists and it is hard to breathe. We are in shock-and it is that shared shock that has unified our community in the call for our students' release. We are in direct communication with our students. Let me be clear: they are not "being medically evaluated." They are not being "questioned as potential victims." Calling a detention center by another name does not change what it is. We deserve better than spin and misinformation. My teachers and my students are already hurting. Please, think about how long every hour feels for a third grader in a detention center. In Binghamton, a small city in upstate New York, it’s a sea of umbrellas. I’d guess 500 people despite the weather, maybe more.

We have the momentum

Anti-Trump/Musk protest in Newark, Delaware (pop. 35,000). This is not a very political town. Might be the biggest protest I’ve seen in my six years here.

Organizers are telling people at Madison Square Park that “this is the end of the March! Keep it moving,” noting there are “thousands and thousands of people behind you” marching south down down 5th Avenue. Sort of a carnival vibe here, with a few groups tabling and using megaphones and speakers.
