I'm reading Freaks, Gleeks and Dawson's Creek, and I am shocked how many of the Dawson's Creek scenes described that are coming right back to me, even though it's been years! For the record, Buffy was more my jam, but I have to admit, I have a soft spot for those way-too-articulate teens. #90sTV

lol, sure it sounds cool until you have a tsunami. But yeah the details make the difference between a story feeling like it's set in Any Town USA, and something actually set in Hawaii.

It really bugs me when a writer sets something in Hawaii butdoesn't do their research. They don't have gulls in Hawaii. Molokai doesn't have a sheriff in the sense that most other states have. They have the Maui P.D. And nobody would put a burger shack on the end of a pier there. #booksky
