22.11.2025 10:54 β π 0 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Storage heaters are predominantly in flats, especially rentals because all electric is considered less maintenance than gas. So this will impact lower income households.
22.11.2025 10:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This isn't just a UK investigation. It's the dismantling of a whole Europe wide Russian influence and money laundering network. The bots (left and right) will be out in force to discredit it.
22.11.2025 00:12 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is part of an international investigation into wider attempts to subvert democracy launched by UK + European partners, including Ukraine. So the UK will be acting with others to close the net, which means we have to move at the pace of that international effort. Be patient, we'll see more.
22.11.2025 00:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It's like that game 'What's the time Mr Wolf?', they creep up on you when you turn your back.
21.11.2025 17:51 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This winter's seemingly early sudden stratospheric warming events and wobbly polar vortex should give us a little taster of how this is going to go ...

17.11.2025 01:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0NEW: Epstein survivors release the most powerful PSA I have ever seen.
Make this go viral so every member of the House of Representatives sees it.
That's my understanding also, combined with improved private pension take up rates encouraged by the default opt in.
16.11.2025 20:51 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Beautiful old school authoritarian threat writing, feels very nostalgic. Also, yikes.
16.11.2025 18:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I wish for a world where policy matters more than charisma. I recently saw charts showing that pretty much every PM of the last 20 years ends in ~ -30% negative ratings (except Tony Blair!). They weren't all rubbish but they all ended in the same place. Is this country ungovernable?
14.11.2025 20:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0BBC won't pay up, and then there's these flies in the ointment
14.11.2025 19:43 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Aside from the very politically engaged, people are fed up now by what looks to them to be endless press speculation (even when sources are credible according to an unexplained journalism code). It makes everyone commenting on it look like pub gossips, and the government, chaotic.
14.11.2025 19:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Nah, if you're in a rush, the first one's usually caps by default so you need a second one to make friendly. Xx
14.11.2025 12:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0In the Corporate world earnings projections are kept under tight wrap until they can be announced. The risk of time at HMP is a good incentive to keep shtum. That's not to say Corporate earnings' processes always go to plan, without last minute changes, it's just that you'd rarely hear of it.
14.11.2025 09:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Erm I'm looking at the 10yr movements and I'm not seeing Truss levels of drama. Did the commentators look at movements or just go off the Fin headline?
14.11.2025 08:48 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Is there an extradition treaty between the US and Argentina though?
14.11.2025 00:51 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So many speculative budget changes being put out by the press only to be rolled back again. Who to believe? Or maybe I'll just wait until 26 Nov and read the bloody thing.
13.11.2025 23:55 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0So political commentators and the press speculate for weeks about income tax rises etc and then claim the government's u-turned on budget measures that weren't even announced. Bit like the leadership challenge that wasn't a leadership challenge?
13.11.2025 23:39 β π 8 π 2 π¬ 2 π 0Trump's shoring up his base in Argentina so he can flee there with the rest of the Nazis*
*yes I know this doesn't apply to Argentinians generally, love BA.
Also worked on this. We made good progress on scope 1 & 2 but struggled with scope 3 - indirect emissions - in the absence of global agreements on taxonomy and standards. Essentially the US et al sabotaged all the UNEP's (+EU) efforts on this, making it extremely challenging to report scope 3.
13.11.2025 18:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So, this is a pragmatic assessment of the world as it is right now. As someone who worked with this, I wish it were not so, but also, if it's any reassurance, in my experience, the majority of European businesses want to do this and will keep trying to find a way.
13.11.2025 17:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0In addition, when the EU legislation first hit the books the world was more cooperative and progressive. Since then, the US et al have aggressively gone after the UNEP Net Zero programmes that were making progress on this.
13.11.2025 17:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Hardly any companies do more than estimate scope 3 emissions. Because without a global consensus on standards and taxonomy, it's incredibly challenging to calculate indirect emissions, especially for SMEs.
13.11.2025 17:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This refers to Leon Black?. Whilst he was known for his career at Apollo Asset Management, he started his career at Drexel Burnham Lambert, he became MD until 1990
Do you know who also worked at Drexel Burnham Lambert early in his career between 1982 and 1986? Nigel Farage.

The UK military also recently showed us excactly how to tackle these boats without killing any one, getting the people, boats and the evidence - with just a single sniper from a helicopter!
If the UK can do that, so can the US...especially if they want to continue the intelligence sharing.
