When it comes to the race for Governor, I'm voting for whomever is going to protect marginalized Michiganders. Duggan doesn't pass that test for me.

I also find it funny that he says he's nonpartisan but he's raking in MAGA donor cash & almost all his positions fall in line with MAGA.

I have found some places on there I probably would not have otherwise, like our beloved pupusa truck that’s on a side street facing a railyard.

St Louis City still has a bad problem with this. Demo companies are required to use misters but enforcement is entirely based on CSB system w/ follow up days later. The complaints get closed w/ no issue found. It's going to get worse because of tornado related demo. So many STL kids have asthma.

There was an air quality monitor near a demolition site not far from my house last year. It went *bonkers* during the demo, and the building wasn't even super big.

They found out that place was gonna be demolished that day when a suburban demo crew banged on their door at 6am telling they “needed to” move their garden so the demo guys could put heavy equipment there

It’s similar up here. The land bank tearing down the vacant ~10 feet from my old apartment was an AWFUL experience. A friend a couple blocks away had an even worse time, and the way they leave the buildings unboarded for months prior to demo meant the house next to them got arsoned. Traumatic.

It’s so bad! Honestly stuff like brick theft and burying demo waste are tied right into some of those demo companies. My roomie once called Bellon bc the crew tearing down the building directly behind us was acting SO awful, and she was told basically what do u want, it’s North City

I know they like to act like modern demolition is fully abated and doesn’t kick up dust with bad stuff in it, but as a person with an ungodly amount of allergies I’m here to tell you that that’s not true lol

I worked at the opera for a while and got to go for free and it was so fun!! We got to see Tosca from the third row once and it was really great

This is likely an old sign that didn’t get taken down. I’m also aware of boarding stuff up so appliances don’t get taken between tenants. But ppl will really post a full on bando for rent
