#otd On this day in 1536, Queen Anne Boleyn was executed by sword at the Tower of London. Her actual execution was not where the memorial on Tower Green is surprisingly. The scaffold for Anne’s execution was erected near where the Jewel House & the Waterloo Barracks are located.

In 1509, Sir Thomas Parr joined his stepfather, Sir Nicholas Vaux, in an investment venture in the English Pale in France and spent some time during the next few summers at the castles of Guisnes and Hammes. It is not known whether or not the Parr children travelled with him.
