I am heartbroken for the families and the community at Earle B. Wood Middle school. As a parent this is an unimaginable tragedy, a nightmare. My deepest condolences to the family and friends of the little girl.

I had a wonderful time celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at Chido's in Downtown Silver Spring. Thank you to the Greater Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce, Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and Wheaton & Kensington Chamber of Commerce for hosting this event.

LGBTQIA+ Maryland residents age 18 and older are invited to participate and complete an important needs assessment that will take approximately 15 minutes. The information gathered will help guide policy recommendations and future programs.

Friday was such an incredible day with our 3rd annual Buckets & Beats Youth Block Party! The sun was shining and there were good vibes all around. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this happen.

This celebration is a reminder that the strength of Montgomery County is, and always has been, rooted in our diversity. Thank you to everyone who joined us!

The Council celebrated its 12th annual Hispanic Heritage Commemoration under the theme, “Legacy in Motion: Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future.” Our three community members recognized — Gabriela Romo, Gustavo Torres, and MCPS student J. Reyes — fully embody this year’s theme.
