Same here. I protect vulnerable shrubs when young & remove the cages when deer browsing won’t negatively impact the plants. We also have gophers & so I plant many things in cages, which doesn’t always keep gophers from reaching into the cages with their tiny paws. Add wind, heat, drought, invasives

What’s happening is undeniably terrifying. I only know that I feel better/less terrified when I’m doing something to help. For me, that’s habitat restoration. Seeing a place come back to life is truly wonderful. 💞

Please don’t give up. Volunteer for habitat restoration programs. Plant a habitat garden. Read about Homegrown National Parks. Doing all of that won’t reverse climate change, but it will help you & your community.

As with everything else, DT is trying to blame his own failures on somebody, everybody else.
