I'd been to the ED and waited for hours in agony.
Optician was wonderful and gave me the
right meds which really helped.

Hope you get your question accepted.
Yes! I remember that from an inset day in the dim, distant past...
Knowing nods all round, but it didn't change what we had to do as a staff.
I felt so torn, so empathetic for the students yet fearful of being judged as a failing dept. Head.
Ooh, I could manage one or two. Am back in bed as I'm chilly and my hands are like ice blocks. This traditional post vax feeling only lasts a day, no more.
Don't feel hungry as such, but a medicinal roastie would be magical! π
"How can we suck the joy out of school even more that the tories did?"
We need a more humane and nurturing education system and we won't get this because these kinds of values cost too much.
So teachers and students get measured, tested, compared, and vilified for not meeting what's "required".

I was lucky, I could pay for my/my partner's vaccination. We've been eligible until now as we both work with vulnerable clients.
The impact of Covid on a largely unvaccinated population is already being felt: the NHS struggles with underfunding, staff absence, no infection control.
I have just returned from the garden centre. I've chosen 2 fan-trained apple trees- they were on sale too. A Cox's and a James Grieve. They won't grow so tall that I can't reach them, and they'll be very happy in the new raised beds where they'll be able to get their roots down.
Roll on Spring!
Looking forward to it already!
Loved reading Baby's Breath. Cracking pace, twists and turns, well-formed characters.
Sounds like a fruitful mission yesterday.
Good morning Mushen and Beans!
I'm achy as hell since the greenhouse saga, & had a Covid jab yesterday so I intend to be gentle on myself this weekend.
I've just acquired a beautiful helleborus for some winter colour.
I might visit the garden centre today.
Iβm a pediatrician, a pediatric ID doctor, PhD and MSc, a father.
Iβve seen hundreds of kids never returning to their pre-covid health after getting covid, from all over the world.
so many that I wrote a book on that and translated in 5 languages

31.10.2025 21:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Finally, the greenhouse is finished!
Lots to do now with the surrounding gravelled area, tidying up the fencing, planting the raised beds, and there's more sealant to apply to the roof panels...
But for now, just for now, I am satisfied. It will do.
Superbly grim thread here:
not at all funny. But it is.

DAD: Hi - do you have an activity trail, for the kids? 3 NT EMPLOYEE: Of course β youβre just in time for the Autumn Gammon Trail! 4 MUM: That sounds fun, doesnβt it kids? 5 NT EMPLOYEE [handing an activity sheet and pencils to the kids]: Every autumn, the Reform Trust gammons flock back to the National Trust for the AGM. Just follow the trail round the grounds, and see how many you can spot! 6 NT EMPLOYEE [hearing something in the gardens]: Listen - that's their call [Calls emanating from the landscape]: tut-tut woke-woke 7 NT EMPLOYEE [showing the family an apparently empty fenced enclosure with some bushes in]: They are extremely sensitive and fragile... But you can bring them out of hiding if you put a little sign down mentioning slavery. 8 KIDS [pointing]: There they are! [Some little red faced PEOPLE wearing Barbour jackets and gilets emerge cautiously from the bushes. They are creeping towards a TINY SIGN in the middle of the enclosure]. [Little people noises]: woke-woke tut-tut woke-woke 9 [Close-up of the TINY SIGN - we can read that it says]: Slavery had a bit to do with building this massive house. [Noises from the little people again as they inspect the tiny sign]: tut-tut woke-woke 10 MUM [pointing]: What's that one doing there? NT EMPLOYEE: Oh, that's so sweetβ¦ 11 [We see that one of the people is sat on a rock, with a little laptop open on a tree stump, and they are furiously typing away]. NT EMPLOYEE: I think he's writing a column for the Daily Telegraphβ¦ 12 [We see close up to the little personβs screen, it is a word document reading]: Are National Trust scones secretly WOKE? [ends]
If you're a National Trust member, it's that time of year again: Midnight tonight is the deadline. It's a shame people have to keep doing this to keep a toehold on historical truth in this country, but here we are. Voting link: www.nationaltrust.org.uk/who-we-are/a...

Wishing you all the best today in your quest.
