Taxing unrealized gains would create chaos. I didn't think anyone serious was still talking about it. OTOH a Piketty style wealth tax (say 1% on all wealth) would go a long way toward fixing what is broken and making the USA a more just place. It would be so much gain for virtually no pain.

100%. She was an excellent candidate. And would likely have been a historically superb progressive POTUS. Again, if people think childcare costs are an issue they should look at her proposed 7% of income cap. If they did not vote for her, they should look in the mirror and ask why not.

I did. Figured candidates who'd put a lid on childcare costs, waive student debt, help with housing, defend civil rights (LGBTQ, women, POC, immigrant, etc...), work on climate, etc., etc. would have made things better. Most of the electorate apparently was not as motivated as I on these things...

By any normal metric, neither Sanders nor AOC are leaders. Sanders is not even a Democrat. Few have done as much real world damage to the Democratic Party and progressive causes as have Sanders and his minions.
