People often make jokes about how For All Mankind is like a prequel to The Expanse. But it occurs to me it really can't be.

The Fantastic Voyage remake has been in purgatory for so long I'm actually happy people still bring it up on occasion. It's one of the few films I would like to see a remake of. Inner Space was a fun take on the concept.

Maybe even an adaptation of Asimov's version "Destination Brain".

In the small fantasy game ive been working on it has a style to it, as if it was drawn on paper. To make item and character sprites look the way I want I make line art then trace bitmap in inkscape with maximum smoothing. Unfortunately I worry people will think it's AI. It has that look about it.

I've reached a point I just don't watch new movies or TV shows anymore. It all feels like soulless corporate slop. I probably won't even watch any new Star Trek stuff after I finish Strange New Worlds.

When an artistic medium stops being art, there is no point in consuming it.

My Ender 3 Pro is still fantastic for projects, but as a model kit printer it is starting to show it's age. Especially with my A1 mini making higher quality prints. I think it's almost time I upgrade my workhorse printer to an A1 and reassign the Ender 3 to utility work.

Honestly? Contact in my opinion. Interstellar is great but Contact hits different.

The Boeing space plane model I made for the same client that ordered the Dyna-Soar came out great. I always love seeing my models fully painted and ready for display.

I really enjoyed 2010. The effects, the story, the ships, the music. All really good.

Another problem with AI is I'm making sprites for a game project, and I need to keep examples of every step to prove it's not AI if anyone asks.

Very true, there are very specific use cases for generative AI. but profit tainted the technology and AI bros made it a moral minefield. So much of the problems with it isn't the technology itself, it's how it was deployed and how it's being utilized. And now it's a net negative for us all.

Been working on another USAF commission. This one is related to the Dyna-Soar. A reusable booster designed by Boeing with a recoverable booster stage.

Yeah he's very much a centrist. On the one had I do like the stability in contrast to the US and making the torries look bad. On the other I wish he stuck to his guns more on these and environmental issues. Liberal party politicians always fall into the "Centrist safe zone", and it's disappointing.

I would like a new team (obviously). I really hope they bring back the blend of humour action and drama from SG1 and Atlantis. SGU honestly had really good writing and stories, but they stripped out the humour and made it not fun to watch. And yes I would love closure on SGU as well!

We will see. The section 31 movie was probably the worst film I have ever seen in general. But if they do something original and unconnected it could be good. I just hope it's not set in the TOS era again. I want lost era media.

I'm supper happy about this, it feels so good to see something I made professionally finished for display.

Imagine being condemned to live as an immortal being, and your only hope for non-infinite persistence is if proton decay is real.

It's interesting to see certain out of touch people claim that empathy is a "weakness" or "bad for civilization". When empathy was one of the biggest factors in our species survival, and the development of the very civilization they claim to care about but clearly are acting against maliciously.
