Hey @inaturalist.bsky.social something super weird is happening with my app on Android. While my observations and photos are of insects and herps, it's showing birds as thumbnails. We know birds aren't real so is this some kind of birder conspiracy to replace all iNat records with birbs?!

When I was observing the conflict on the Cambodia-Thai border in 2011, they were using the same 155mm artillery shell, including NR-269 DPICM containing M42 cluster submunitions. It is likely that there are thousands of unexploded munitions littering both sides of the border that'll need clearing.

There's also no denying the sustained campaign of abuse of Cambodian people in Thailand. It's been widely documented. But this doesn't solve the current issue. No government, no army, is blameless in this. But assigning blame isn't going to help. How do we solve this if we can't trust governments?

I agree that there's a lot of misinformation coming from Cambodia. And from Thailand.

Actually I'm not even sure why I waste time discussing with an anonymous user who may not even consider he may be wrong. Both armies have committed crimes and impacted innocent civilian populations, there's no denying that. It's been widely documented that both govts/armies have infringed and lied.

You really haven't watched the Cambodian news ? It's important to diversify your sources to avoid being biased.

A tunnel, a bunker, is by essence a defensive structure. While it's clear from satellite imagery that Cambodian farmers may have encroached in Thai territory for decades, it's also clear that the Thai army seized Cambodian territory over the last few months. A joint border commission can solve this

As an example, if it's located here, we're inside an area that is considered Cambodian land by both countries, so there's no reason to make a fuss about it. Thailand likely has similar bunkers on their side of the border and no one is getting upset about it.

That's a fairly large area - and it still may be inside Cambodia. You see, that's what I mean: without transparency, pinpointing the exact location on a map, there's no way to know if we should be alaarmed by the presence of tunnels and bunkers if they're on Cambodian territory.

A good question to ask the Thai Army.

This is where we need transparency from armies. If these tunnels are in Cambodia, they're totally legal and authorised, and it could be evidence that Thailand is currently occupying Cambodia. If they're in Thailand, this is an issue. If they're in disputed areas, this is also a problem.

6 km? Impossible.

There's no way Cambodian soldiers could go this deep inside Thailand and dig a tunnel through stone without anyone noticing. Thai Army would have noticed, heard and seen them. What is the source for these coordinates ?
