I mean, this would be the (unambitious) dream.
The idea that Democrats could be "forced to embrace racism" makes no fucking sense and I don't understand even giving oxygen to the premise.

We cannot wish the fascists away; the time has come to disobey.

I was mystified by its popularity. But I tried again when its final season started, and I realized all the "drama" was meant to be satire. All the supposed importance was only the self-importance of a few incredibly insubstantial, useless, and bad people. As satire and comedy, it's pretty great.
15.11.2025 17:11 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Considering all the people putting their livelihoods and their bodies on the line to speak out and defend their neighbors and Democracy generally, how can someone so protected by wealth and fame look on at all this and say nothing? Not only squander the attention of millions, but soak up more of it?

15.11.2025 15:49 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Can you give any examples of things politicians have said or put focus on that you think Buttigieg et al want to curb? Even a broadish topic/issue. (but more specific than "equality" or "racial justice")
15.11.2025 15:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It's not, but thanks for clarifying the thought process. If we should continue with this much identity politics in discourse, it means more amplifying how bad it is and how sad and mad it makes us that white supremacists are legislating to exclude non-white people.
Rather than do anything about it.
This is the most hilarious thing Iβve seen all week. π
15.11.2025 04:19 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Yeah I think people are unwittingly making their own straw man. Consultants and politicians talking about messaging and reaching voters is not the same as a party's platform or the policies a politician supports. I'd really like to know what racial justice policies Democrats are choosing to abandon.
15.11.2025 11:30 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0He's calling for "retreat on racial justice"? I see no evidence of that. Are there any policies or platform points he's saying to shed?
I saw commentary from him about "identity politics", but that's about discourse. (And it's stupid for him to call out "identity" stuff when maga does it the most.)
Or jesus goading them into killing themselves

There's no reason to hear someone say a phrase like "superior race" and default to benefit of the doubt.

Even if an ACA extension were passed in December (it wouldn't be, obviously, or it could simply be conceded by Rs now to end the shutdown), people would have already passed up re-enrolling for 2026 based on the premiums being impossible to pay. So I think they'd lose their insurance anyway.

They expect the world or Sarah McBride.
Just because someone is trans it doesnβt automatically make them a hardcore leftist
And frankly, respectability politics has its place. Half the country thinks we are satanic pedophiles. Itβs ok to be boring
Ok, apparently that term is dog whistle-y. I just mean the people that I've seen very harshly (unjustly) criticizing her.
And by dogma, ok that does sound like code also. But I mean literally dogma, as Sarah has talked about too. Making centrists for instance be very on their toes about language.
I didn't say anything like "all trans people are McBride haters", though. I don't even know if there are many, I hope there aren't. But, I do know they are vocal and aggressive.
