This was kind of an impossible, fully shit situation but it might've been mitigated down into something these actors could just roll their eyes at one day. It wasn't merely a misstep by BBC, it shows they really don't take seriously what it means for this word to be used against you.

Did you know there's a group of people who personally oppose the idea of abolishing the police, and another group of people who like the idea but don't have the vision for how to execute it? And knowing which you're talking to should really influence your choice of argument to make.

Some of us have an expectation of usefulness, in what we read and what we say. At least, attempted usefulness. One can try to be useful and just be wrong, but it at least airs a genuine thought that then can be eliminated as not something to pursue. It's still a useful contribution in that sense.
