Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgård shows up for the London premiere of his new movie “Pillion." He's wearing a sleeveless white dress shirt with a black leather necktie and black leather pants with metal grommets down the crotch. He's also wearing black leather boots. A black motorcycle is behind him.

in 20 years, the most extreme, reactionary, "return to tradition" masculinity influencer is going to adopt this uniform and you'll have to calmly explain that this was once considered non-traditional

Bluesky's view of the world has very clear roots in resenting that the internet is no longer being the special nerd things for special nerds, with everything else being retroactively justified. It makes the discourse on polarization both deeply elitist and entirely unhelpful.

It feels like the faces more consistent because they're more rigid, does that make sense? It's something I noticed happening to ai art too.

Is it just me or are these sora vids identical to what you could generate, like, a year ago? I remember us having the same freakout over bodycam footage and such. Seems more like a marketing push than anything.

Imagining being the military governor of Alabama and the first day on the job you catch Osama bin Laden and his friends. You're about to execute them but then Godzilla attacks and they get away. Also, you almost executed bin Laden's innocent pizza guy by accident and the pizza guy is actually Jesus.

The HP Fandom gives more metaphysical significance to thier work of choice than *Disney Adults*. Y'all don't realize how actually crazy they are.

This was always dumb, and correlated pretty much 1-to-1 with the drop in quality journalism has had since early Obama. It's just easier to see the disconnect now

Astounding that they thought the "not in a Walmart tax" was about the brand itself and not people trying to avoid racist Walmart shoppers

This is an estimation based on the 2024 result for both states, not actually state-by-state polling.

Ukraine's constitution explicitly *does* permit this, in plain text, in case you were wondering why Zelensky could do it.

Japanese media is huge in Southeast Asia, especially the Philippines and Indonesia, which have large populations and don't have much in the way of domestic media.

Japan's influence mostly comes from anime and games. Having essentially an international monopoly on plot heavy animated content is really helping them out. The games part, especially back in the 80s and 90s, comes downwind of them having a lot of electronics manufacturing just sitting around.

I even mean party line stuff, like "we should deport all illegals", "trans women are men", etc. The overton window on "acceptable thing to be ironically edgy about" might've shifted *left*, which would represent the opposite of zoomers being more right wing, even if the result looks otherwise.

One thing I have noticed is that lots of young people do MAGA talking points mostly to aggrivate and exasperate in the same way them saying the n-word or using swastikas used to do (before the taboo on those became stronger) rather than them actually giving a shit about "blood and soil" for real.
