For example, if you live in the US and order two Good Smile figures (~$45USD each), with a tariff rate 15% currently on Japan as of today, you’ll be paying $80 extra /per/ figure in your order ($160 extra in total).

I did /not/ know about the “de minimus exception” going away on 8/29:
* 📦 from a country with a tariff rate < 16% = $80 per item fee
* 16-25% = $160 fee

If there was any question about being in Canada a fellow con-goer extolled the subtle nuances of ketchup chips to me. No shade to ketchup chips, was just surprised it came up unprompted.

I can’t get over how gorgeous the waterfront is next to the Vancouver convention center. Ended up grabbing a beer and watching the sunset while waiting for some late evening panels at Anirevo.

I’ve totally done a similar thing assembly furniture before. It’s so demoralizing, especially when you are screwing stuff together by hand.

At the Bellevue Art Fair today with @straycatalyst.bsky.social. There was a fun chalk free-draw area. Spotted Gumball, Princess Bubblegum, Hatsune Miku and and the classic “Cool S”.

Letting my old-taku nature shine. Finally finished up my DeadBeat cosplay (Mori Calliope fan) in time for Hololive concert up in Vancouver next weekend. 3d print for the mask was about 2.5 days of print time. Finished ventilation fan wiring this evening.

Oh that’s interesting! I’ve been using wise as a convenient debit card when traveling but I didn’t know that’s how it was structured under the hood. I found the card and app very convenient to use when I was traveling in Japan and Denmark with it.

Final calligraphy class of the quarter just wrapped. Got to try syosho (full cursive style) for the final assignment. Super fun but super tough. This is 悠然/yuzen/“majestic”.

There are a ton of these tiny land crabs in the marshlands near Charleston and they are adorable.

I can now say I have dipped my feet in two different oceans on the same trip!
Headed down to Isle of Palms beach in South Carolina (near Charleston). Rounding out trip with Mom visiting my Uncle who moved here from WA about 10 yr ago.
