The Naxos version was my introduction to the piece, and I think it's probably still my favourite version.

I love the rawness of this version. Not being a trained classical singer, there's a sense of jeopardy when Beth reaches for the peak notes and a sense of relief when she hits them.

The sense of utter powerlessness is horrible.

It was stunning. That you can recreate something as emotional as this live is almost miraculous.
