Now that would be something special for Scotland π

The LEZ was introduced to change behaviour not generate revenue. The enforcement regime has been in place for one year and is still bedding in. We will take all available steps to ensure fines are paid.

It isnβt by accident that the Tories lose every vote 9-2 at TEC (Transport & Environment Committee).

It took three attempts but finally a decision was taken on the W Hotel access issues by my committee last week π

Received this brilliant leaflet today from Daniel Johnson MSP. A vote for anyone else in May could allow the SNP to sneak in through the back door!
02.02.2026 11:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Fantastic team effort on the doorstep with Daniel Johnson MSP this morning. No love for the SNP or their tired and out of touch Government in Buckstone thatβs for sure!

I agree there is much to do on footway improvements. Last year I doubled the carriageway & footway budget to Β£26m and I plan to do so again this year. It is starting to make a difference but the problem I am tackling has been a decade in the making.

I was invited on to BBC Radio Scotland this morning to talk a little about Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs) and the effect they are having managing problem parking in Edinburgh.

Encouraging to see plans being discussed to use a future visitor levy to help fund the long-awaited George Street revamp. If approved, itβs a chance for visitors to help support better public spaces and long-term investment in Edinburgh.

It was great fun campaigning with Daniel Johnson MSP this morning in Newington. A vote for anyone else risks the SNP sneaking in through the back door and it was clear Craigmillar Park are having none of that thank you very much. π

I think it was done to wind up the Greenβs if Iβm honest. It is a tax free enterprise zone. If 16,000 people find well paid employment itβll be worth the risk to the exchequer. If they donβt it wonβt.
15.01.2026 14:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβve always been uncomfortable with the tax incentives in this deal, but backed it on the promise of well-paid, unionised jobs. This is a good first step β but as they say, the proof will be in the pudding.

I wonder if there is a slide in todayβs draft budget papers that shows just how much the SNP Government value Scottish Local Authorities?
13.01.2026 21:22 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0After nearly two decades in power youβd have thought the SNP would have figured out how to manage a budget by now! The settlement has never been higher so why does everyone feel poorer? Mismanagement and fiscal incompetence thatβs how!
