Bus strike could hit Festival and Oasis gig Bus drivers working for a publicly-owned subsidiary of Lothian Buses are voting on possible strike action after rejecting a two-year pay deal.

I have been getting regular briefings on the pay talks from both Lothian and my union Unite. I don’t believe the sides are too far apart so I remain hopeful that a deal can be negotiated to remove the threat of strike action at East Coast.

It is disappointing that this trial has been delayed. Officers have been unable to get clarity on the Bus Infrastructure Fund programme for 25/26 from Transport Scotland hence the hold up.
