Not having a car in the far reaches of SoCal is mind-numbingly challenging. If I want to leave Coachella Valley via public transit, I can only do so on weekdays. Getting anywhere in the IE involves 3 buses and a train, and everything shuts down at 9 so there's no way home.

I just want to say car free living in a California desert suburb feels completely insane and untenable yet somehow I still have no interest in ever owning a car again. Every time a motorist intentionally tries to scare or hurt me it strengthens my resolve.
