Now Trump is using the same word in D.C. To them, “liberation” means clearing streets with troops, rounding up the vulnerable, and calling it freedom. In the United States, we don’t “liberate” our people from the government they themselves elected.

I cannot emphasize this enough: the president's claims about Washington D.C., crime and homelessness are lies. He is lying about crime rates. He is lying about the state of lawlessness. He is lying about who is homeless in D.C., what we know about homelessness and how to end homelessness there.
