players who care about ranked are already happy, because they value either a) pp (there is an overabundance of pp maps currently) or b) discovering good maps, which we also get plenty of
i would rather bns dont waste their time on maps that are already well-known and continue pushing high quality

well guess it's time to set goals. i will play less because i have a thesis to write lol
let's settle for :
- 285 hpp
- discovering lots of cool maps
- mapping a lot
very reasonable

my gameplay feels so much better, i dont get clobbered by 6.5+ maps as much and my tapping doesnt really ever rust anymore, i can even read up to ar10.2 now
fully convinced that play less improve more is a thing

end of my osu! year, recap :
- successfully hosted and badged a tournament
- played in 7 tournaments (unquald 0 times)
- reached 275 hits per play (+23)
- 76B ranked score (+18B)
- first 400pp play + peaked rank a few times
- started mapping arc
- all of that in under 20k plays / 500hrs

just go sit in multi lobby or something istg it works

if i understand correctly you dont find your own map fun to play? imo it's a bit of an acquired taste kind of thing, once you are able to enjoy the game without necessarily grinding for scores or even doing good at all, maps that are good in editor will become good in play
