Tahis redrawing of our electoral maps is an attempt to disenfranchise voters and take us back to a Jim Crow America.

This past weekend, I joined the congregation at City of Refuge in Oakland and celebrated the 70th birthday of Bishop Flunder. In a time when we need to lean on each other and support each other the most - it was incredibly healing and powerful to join for worship.

This weekend in the Bay, I got to see Dr. Katzel, the oncologist who took care of my late husband Kevin, who passed after a brave fight with cancer in 2014.

In our district, we depend on public radio for news, culture, and emergency alerts about wildfires and earthquakes.

Republicans are clawing back $9 billion for programs like public radio but have no issue passing largest defense funding bill in our nation's history. We say hell NO.

Last week, under the cover of night, Republicans passed a bill to pull back money that Congress ALREADY approved and Trump had already signed into law. I voted hell NO.

In particular -- this recessions bill pulled back money for public broadcasting.

As the first congenitally blind Member of Congress, I believe we must bring the voices of the disability community to the policy-making table and that our stories must be reflected in policies. I am confident that this bill will help our community make strides towards greater equity and inclusion.

This bill would ensure that disabled jurors have reasonable accommodations and would not be disqualified on account of disability.

Using Medicaid data to target immigrants is an outrageous violation of privacy. Weaponizing the systems built to help and protect our most vulnerable in order to attack them is dispicable.

Republicans’ decision to pass a bill that defunds Planned Parenthood and guts Medicaid is wreckless and will have disproportionate effects on Black and brown women and families. It’s absolutely unacceptable.

If Trump can release the files on the life and death of Dr. King, he should release the Epstein files. We all deserve a transparent, just government that works for US - not the rich and the powerful.
