i’ve never listened to 1999 on vinyl but it has always felt far more like a work in 4 sides than 2 discs

one of the Fastball lads (i think miles but might’ve been tony) made the excellent point that on Back In Black, the title track is how Side B opens after the intermission of turning the record over. on cd, one of the most bombastic intros in rock history is just… a song in the middle of the album.

CDs are as irrelevant as vinyl ever was at this point; i propose we bring back “sides”

there’s no reason streaming—or even purchased MP3s—not subdivide the tracks this way if the artist prefers

i don't remember the subversion but i do remember doom 2016 being a great experience from the beginner standpoint; didn't feel like it was babying me any, but i was also able to tinker with custom controls and gyro aiming without really feeling like i was sticking my neck out
