THIS. I’m in NEPA and all of the outreach has been strictly about term limits. If I didn’t see anything about it here I wouldn’t know it was partisan.

And that’s what they’re banking on.

It’s actually more insidious than that. The mailers I’ve been getting just talk about term limits- nothing partisan mentioned.

I am getting absolutely SPAMMED with mailers and texts about voting No under the guise of “term limits”- deceptively avoiding any political motivations or speech.

Eyes and ears open, PA. If you don’t want to become even more conservative as a state, vote YES.

2) what I heard was that the shooter was potentially receiving a PFA for stalking. It is common for police to respond in groups around here to serve warrants/PFAs, especially if the address is known. When dispatched, we receive “premise hazards” with potentially dangerous conditions or priors listed

I’m a first responder in PA, so this has been quite the scuttlebutt in my area.

Some things to note:
1) despite it being billed as rural, it’s a suburb of York (aka a small city). To my understanding it’s woodsy but not “50 miles to the next town Pennsyltucky”

Cont’d

Zohran wants universal childcare for everyone in this city and I hear people who NEED this asking 'OK but how will he pay for this?' I'm like 'bitch I haven't heard your ridiculous ass ask ONCE how the city is paying 11 BILLION A YEAR FOR COPS.' NOT ONCE. So damn demagogued.

Technically it’s considered cardiovascular disease, so it is on the list indirectly

This was triage medicine- austere circumstances, saving as many as possible. Blame the piss poor rescue efforts

3 things:
1) she was a doctor- don’t put that on nurses
2) some fates are absolutely worse than death- ask any medical professional
3) if evacuation is not possible, what is the alternative? Leave the infirm there to waste away?

Yes- I also booked an appointment at the local clinic for a couple of weeks if for some reason I can’t get a script. My doctor is chill so I expect she’ll hook me up though.

I just had to request a script from my doctor for my Covid booster. Bullshit

We have entire groups on the left fighting for prison abolitionism and other such causes, which is diametrically opposed to the punitive nature that many possess. Y’all complain the right is punitive but bring the same energy 🤷🏻‍♀️

Exactly. Red states have people suffering who voted against this too, and quite honestly all the smug blue staters need to remember that.

It’s a lot harder to flip than it is to coast along- keep that in mind.

Hot take but so what? We love to argue that punishing people based on ideology is wrong, but as soon as the shoe is on the other foot everyone loves the schadenfreude. We can’t win bc liberals are also punitive, spoils-based ideologues. We’re not offering an alternative we’re offering a weaker right

Trump won PA too- by that logic is Philadelphia red?

I’m not asking about the rural surrounding areas- I’m asking if you have the gall to refer to Philly as a red city simply bc of the state it’s in.

Aren’t we discussing Asheville, a famously extremely liberal city?

Ask local EMS if they take their traumas by ground or fly them - that’s usually a good indication.

My father-in-law is part of the Guy Economy, and to a lesser extent so is my husband.

Pro tip—if you want to partake in guy economy culture, become a member of one of the following: volunteer firehouse, American Legion/VFW, local ethnic club (e.g. the Italian Club, the Polish Eagles, etc).

my father-in-law is a “I know a guy” Guy. sadly all the old Guys are aging out of the Guy Economy. Guys are fundamentally incompatible with Hustle Culture because it’s not about “winning” a deal, it’s about collecting favors and goodwill in a mutually-beneficial cycle. protect your local Guy Economy

My favorite part is that the college regularly discusses its commitment to “judeochristian values”. I don’t like that term anyway, but it’s especially on the nose here.

I have multiple nursing school exams during this period- I have one right before sundown on erev Rosh and had to ask permission to move one during Yom Kippur.

I’m talking about the trains, which exist, where people bring their vehicles to continue their journey. This exists for ferries as well.

People can participate in mass transit while also mitigating the last mile problem in places not dense enough to warrant robust transit.

This. They had a ton of passenger trains from Philly to the south Jersey beaches until they built highways next to them and killed the business.

27.08.2025 16:35 — 👍 2    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

I maintain that being able to drive to the train, load your car, ride, and exit to finish the drive is still a win. They also have park and rides if you don’t need your car at your destination.

We need to realize transit not being a door-to-door service doesn’t mean it’s a non-starter.

Some trains can even carry cars! Imagine if someone could drive to a train, load up their car, and ride to the last leg of their journey.
