THOUSANDS of us were out today on Western Ave standing in unity against Trumpβs fascist regime for No Kings 2.0 - I was in awe of the thousands of people around me and invigorated to be a small part of it.
Together we are stronger, more organized, and *united* we can move forward and through this.
I stand with @newyorkstateag.bsky.social This indictment is ridiculous - AG James has been an incredible advocate, a leader for NY, and a fighter for all - for these reasons she is being targeted and for these reasons Iβve got her back.
11.10.2025 21:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Today I was proud to present $30,000 in my discretionary state funding to the Underground Railroad Education Center to support their Museum Studies Teen Program.
29.09.2025 18:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There needs to be an opportunity for NYS to fight back when government actors are out of line.
I just introduced A.9076/S.8500 with Senator Myrie - a bill that gives New Yorkers the power to hold government officials accountable in our own state courts when they violate our constitutional rights.
Commentary from Asst. Council Leader @anoblehistory.bsky.social New York state's history is our story. We must be the ones to tell it.

Speaker Heastie joined me for a tour, where he gave a $1.25M investment for Chapman Inst. & Hood's House of Hoops! ππΌ
This investment will have ripple effects for the whole West Hill neighborhood, and I'm so excited for the City of Albany residents!
Nurses are the backbone of our healthcare system and have long been at the forefront of advocating for meaningful change in the workplace. This ratification marks a historic victory in the ongoing efforts to strengthen the future of Albany Medical Center. Congratulations to the nurses who fought tirelessly for safer working conditions and to @ NYSNA for their unwavering advocacy. I remain deeply and unwaveringly committed to supporting our nurses and advancing patient safety and workplace fairness.

The bill bans ICE an federal agents from hiding their identities, promoting safety and transparency for vulnerable communities. I am committed to safety for all.

10 years ago, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of continuing to fight for equal rights for all in Obergefell v. Hodges. This fight was the result of generations of folks fighting with courage, resilience, and pride. The fight is far from over, especially as the federal government continues to roll back protections for our LGBTQIA+ community, with transgender and gender nonconforming individuals facing the greatest threats. I will always fight for a future where every American can live openly, love freely, and be treated with the dignity and safety they deserve. π³οΈβππ€
Ten years ago, SCOTUS ruled for marriage equality in Obergefell v. Hodges, a victory built on generations of LGBTQIA+ courage and pride. But the fight isnβt over. Our most vulnerable communities still face growing threats. Iβll keep fighting for dignity, safety, and love for all. π³οΈβππ€

Justice, fairness, and transparency must never be up for negotiation. In this budget, we won.
In addition to other major wins for working families preserving our discovery law was one of my proudest accomplishments - over the next few days, I'll update you on the wins in this year's budget
I was so proud to stand with my colleagues in the NYS Assembly to protect due process in this yearβs budget. We fought to preserve the heart of the 2020 discovery reforms because access to evidence isnβt a technicality; itβs a constitutional right.

Iβve seen firsthand how transparency in the criminal legal process strengthens our communities and increases integrity in the courtroom.
As a former public defender and now Assemblymember, Iβm using my trial experience and voice to push back on the false narratives about New Yorkβs discovery law.
Just as the CRA's passage faced many obstacles, we still find ourselves now fighting injustice and fascism. Today and every day, we need to commit to learning from our wrongs and dismantling systems of oppression.
11.04.2025 17:06 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Today is the 61st anniversary of the Civil Rights Act, which outlawed segregation and discriminatory practices across the nation. Now more than ever, it's so important to recognize our history and past injustices
11.04.2025 17:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Donald Trumpβs tariff plan will drive up energy costs, adding to working families' already skyrocketing bills. As we all grapple with the chaos in Washington, I won't stop working to lower costs, from investing in affordable green energy to passing measures to lower utility bills.
