I just introduced A.9076/S.8500 with Senator Myrie - a bill that gives New Yorkers the power to hold government officials accountable in our own state courts when they violate our constitutional rights.

10 years ago, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of continuing to fight for equal rights for all in Obergefell v. Hodges. This fight was the result of generations of folks fighting with courage, resilience, and pride. The fight is far from over, especially as the federal government continues to roll back protections for our LGBTQIA+ community, with transgender and gender nonconforming individuals facing the greatest threats. I will always fight for a future where every American can live openly, love freely, and be treated with the dignity and safety they deserve. 🏳️‍🌈🤍

It's #InternationalWorkersDay - aka May Day - and it's been a whirlwind of labor rallies today. My parents were proud union members, and I'll always be labor's proud partner in government.

Earlier today, the New York State Assembly Majority was blessed in the Assembly chamber with Honorable Rev. Jahmel Robinson, pastor at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, giving the opening prayer on the floor. Rev. Robinson is also an @albanynycouncil.bsky.social member for the 5th Ward.
