Headline from Harvard Crimson: "Harvard President Garber Tells Faculty He Is Not Considering a $500 Million Deal With Trump."
Text of story: Harvard prez Garber says report of a deal "was apparently leaked to the press by White House officials." NYT ran with it as a story.
Important details from this story:
1) Yet another news-break by student journalists (this time @theharvardcrimson.bsky.social) www.thecrimson.com/article/2025...
2) Harvard saying "see you in court," not "let's make a deal."
3) Per Garber, WH/MAGA leaked news of a "deal." NYT then ran with it.

Need more than a 1 tie-break vote margin in the senate realistically. Even FDR struggled a lot with a big majority in very dire times - and failed to pack the court.

a fun game to play with BLS numbers is to go “that’s stupid, why do they do it that way” and then go find the paper explaining why they do it that way to see if you still think it’s stupid, and if you do, you win

There were quite a few rock bands in the 80s and 90s that were sly about using samples and sequencers - especially live.
Lots of live performances still mix in recorded vocals and other tracks but take pains not to advertise it.

The American Eagle thing is such a perfect example of how social media is not real life. 98% of Americans have no fucking idea what you're talking about.

This needs to happen. De Blasio deserves some credit for pushing this forward before Hochul.

I just saw someone post the other day that their mom never played the second half of the movie (after the intermission), and so they didn't know there were nazis in it until college.

There's again a fundamental asymmetry here. The right never protests pols on the right but they relentlessly protested Obama (and there's Jan 6).
The left is more likely to apply the logic below (protests and labor action). It's not a great PR dynamic for low info voters.

Yet again, my 3 year old is braver (and more rational) than a white adult male Senator. It should be shamefully embarrassing to say anything like this in public.

Also, the fact is that only the majority house party can/will impeach. Dems did it twice!
And, of course, you also need a supermajority in the senate to convict.

I hate Trump's action, and I appreciate the sentiment, but this is not an impeachable offense. It's just plain stupid.
