People need to ask themselves why we have sports in school in the first place. Is it so the most athletic kids can win medals? Or is it so we can encourage all kids to participate and enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle. What are we paying for?

The answer is: Hell yes, trans kids should be able to participate in sports according to how they identify.

The emotional damage done by rejecting a kid’s identity is the real concern here. Not the bigotry of a busybody parent trying to bully that one kid.

The dept of edu was established one year before IDEA guaranteed free accessible education for students with disabilities. IDEA works because the dept of education oversees it & removing that oversight by cutting staff so much shows exactly what matters to them…and who doesn’t.

Our ferry system is incredible, and people outside of the area have no idea. Sure, there are still some inequities to work out (how many yrs was Bremerton on a single boat while Bainbridge had 2?), but it makes public transit often a better option than cars.
