Conversely, we ignore the costs of validation for LLM code. I know people who’ve lost weeks of research time due to collaborators churning out buggy LLM-written code that passed buggy LLM-written tests. Unpicking a dense codebase when you can’t trust the tests is a nightmare.

It’s annoying how the real limiting factor for a lot of those tools seems to be getting trained experts to label training data and validate the outputs. Just a big catch-22 of “nobody has enough time to build the timesaving tool”.
