Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

Are you pretending to work? The slow demise of the corporate job A growing segment of the corporate workforce know their jobs make no real contribution and that what they do each day is meaningless

Welcome to Corporate Theatre, where we spend 40 hours a week perfecting the art of looking busy while climbing mountains of paperwork. Accountability? That’s for the peasants. #PretendToWork www.rte.ie/brainstorm/2...

Scrum isn’t "I finished my task."
It’s "We delivered value."
Individual excellence matters, but collective responsibility wins. #Teamwork #Scrum #Agile

In Scrum, individual accountability means owning your work. Team accountability means owning the outcome. Both are essential. You can’t have a great team without both showing up every day. #Teamwork #Scrum #Agile

Accountability is not about blame but ownership. When teams take responsibility, they build trust, strengthen collaboration, and move forward with confidence. #Teamwork #Scrum #Agile

The most common error I see as a book editor is incorrectly punctuated dialogue.

NO: β€œNice to meet you.” She said.
YES: β€œNice to meet you,” she said.

NO: β€œLikewise.” The editor said.
YES: β€œLikewise,” the editor said.

NO: She smiled, β€œHi."
YES: She smiled. β€œHi.”

I got a thoughtful reply on one of my posts: we’re in a transition phase where LLMs cover 80% of the work, and once the last 20% is solved, we’ll just be writing apps in natural language instead of code.

It’s a smart takeβ€”and it’s also something I hear a lot.
