I get the agreement on pragmatic grounds. It's too much money and litigation will take too much time.

Writing as one of the 595 who voted for the resolution, I see how the administration can reasonably argue that it did not capitulate to any "demand that undermine[s] constitutional rights, democratic principles, faculty governance, institutional autonomy, and academic freedom."
