In SC, Black voters mobilized, but they also formed self defense orgs, mutual aid networks, & orchestrated work stoppages, among other tactics. Attempting to create a voting record is very important, but it is the other tactics that make repression difficult & dangerous.

That's very true, & if we're thinking locally, they've never fully abandoned this set of tactics, but I don't know that we've had them at the center of a national political movement since the dark days of the lynching era (~1890s-1940s). Absolutely devastating when we think through the implications.
