you know, if i were in the position of interviewing jeffries here, i would ask the congressman to specify exactly when and where mamdani used that language.

If you listen to the actual audio, it's very clear that she didn't misspeak. She was told she was wrong, but she refused to listen and continued to double and triple down.

The least she can do is apologize and endorse the Democratic nominee even though he's Muslim. Whether she will is unclear.

I don't think the fact that Zohran Mamdani is running an issues-focused campaign, is inspiring a new generation of voters with bold policy proposals and has over 40,000 volunteer canvassers is coincidental. Those are all results of the democratic socialist ethos at the core of the campaign.

to be clear, i’m not saying that there aren’t folks who claim to be to dsa’s left and who view us as suckdem reformist$ or whatever, but that these people are not “more advanced,” they’re usually significantly less developed organizers and thinkers

everything you said equally applies to chapters which we do regulate this way. “what if you have a group of people that want to organize as DSA.” well they form an organizing committee, file some paperwork, meet some basic requirements, and become a chapter. we need to stop infantilizing our members

very simple answer that addresses everything you said. you can organize informally in whatever groups you like. as soon as you want to call yourself “action first dsa,” “proletarian dsa,” “red penguin dsa” whatever, you have to file some basic paperwork so that you’re not using the name improperly

it’s too late for this to be a member-submitted resolution, but i believe the NPC could still submit this as a recommendation

DSA caucuses should be official entities under the purview of the national organization with an enforced social media policy, financial disclosure requirements, and a baseline code of conduct, not 3 guys in a trench coat that use DSA’s name with no strings attached and spend infinite $ on self-promo

a refrain you’ll hear from sectarians before convention is that you should feel shame for being in DSA, that more “advanced” “revolutionary” socialists look down on us

but those folks don’t exist. DSA is the largest, most advanced socialist org in generations. you can’t make me ashamed of it
