Following the second-worst wildfire season in Canadian history, we’re making significant investments through Budget 2025 to keep communities safe.

#CSJ provides wage subsidies to not-for-profits, public, and private sector employers to ensure there are positions available that offer valuable experiences for younger workers to compete in the workforce.

Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) is part of the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS), and together, these programs help young people aged 15–30 gain skills and work experience to help them overcome barriers and transition into the labour market.

Good morning, Yukoners! Yesterday was a historic day - we passed the federal budget. I had a great conversation with Elyn Jones on Yukon Morning about what this means for our territory and the opportunities ahead.

“They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.”

Lest we forget.

We remember those deployed in conflicts far from home, those stationed on peacekeeping missions, those who step forward during natural disasters, and the families who carry the weight of their absence.

Today, we pause not only to mark 80 years since the end of World War II, but to honour all who have served, and continue to serve.

This morning, it was a privilege to attend the 2025 Whitehorse Remembrance Day ceremony, hosted by Branch 254 of the Royal Canadian Legion in partnership with the City of Whitehorse.

Great to connect with the Prime Minister and colleagues this week. We talked about Budget 2025, our local priorities, and how we can continue to work together to grow opportunities across our country. Thank you for the productive discussion (and the coffee)!

🚨 Strengthen community safety and protect our way of life.
💪🏽 Create opportunities for good jobs, reliable public services, and a more affordable cost of living.

With major investments in the North and a focus on building a more resilient economy, we’re making choices today that will strengthen Canada for the future.

Congratulations once again to everyone who contributed to this election. The work continues — and I look forward to what we can accomplish together.
