Spoke in the House of Commons last night on Bill C-10: An Act respecting the Commissioner for Modern Treaty Implementation. This Bill is critical to advancing reconciliation and upholding treaty commitments.

They’re a powerful example of what’s possible when Indigenous leadership and local vision come together — reducing emissions, strengthening energy sovereignty, and building a cleaner, more inclusive future for all Canadians.

I’m proud to see these community-led initiatives come to life in Canada’s Northern regions.

And the exploration of the Matawak Hydroelectric Power Plant near St-Michel-des-Saints is another exciting step toward energy independence for the Atikamekw Nation of Manawan.

The Innavik Remote Hydro Project in Inukjuak — now the largest off-grid hydropower facility in Canada — is replacing diesel with renewable energy and bringing lasting economic benefits to the community.

Yesterday morning at the CGC, I joined ElderActive in celebrating the International Day of Older Persons.

Did you know that by 2050, the number of people aged 65 and older is expected to nearly double worldwide? We’re seeing that growth right here in Yukon, too.

Because when we understand the gaps, we can close them. 

Sexual and reproductive health is essential health care. Better data = better decisions = better access. Proud to see this step forward.

Big news for reproductive health in the Yukon! With over $330K in federal funding, the Yukon Status of Women Council is launching “Connecting Data and Decisions”—a project aimed at improving abortion access through better data and information sharing.

This is a big step toward creating more opportunities for students and celebrating the franco-yukonnais spirit that makes our territory so special.

Since 2018, Chief Adamek has stood as a fierce advocate for Yukon First Nations - championing progress in education, economic development, and governance with strength and determination.

This October, we proudly celebrate the remarkable leadership of Regional Chief Kluane Adamek as she concludes her term.
