Online, I splitting the group is a lot easier to schedule. Draw Steel is so tactical, it's a game I'd want to play face to face.
You could really mess with the players in DG. Try it.

It got me thinking about MCDMs campaign announcement. Starting a campaign as a group, then seperating the party so each PC has a solo adventure would be tough. We don't meet often enough face to face. It might sound cool in theory but in reality that might be a campaign killer taking months to sort.

I think it worked cause we were young, had less personal responsibilities and scheduling games was easy. It still took a few months to get to that point. I don't think we could pull that off now.

One of the best D&D (3.5e) campaign structures I experienced was the game started with each PC as a solo adventure from level 1-3 in a single 4-6 hour session. At that point we met another PC and joined forces for another couple levels until the whole party came together around level 5.

I've never seen a player treated so delicately before, like the organization is on constant edge that if he's made to feel unhappy he's gonna stomp his feet and demand out. Berube saying he'd be out a week is code for have no clue.

Warped Beyond Recognition and This Ship is a Tomb are both really good if you're looking for a session or two. You can also use Gradient Descent. Even though its a megadungeon it's pretty deadly and can work for a couple sessions of play.

Damn, I don't think that was in the 5e conversion. Jealous!

Only skimmed it myself but a couple adventures are going to work perfectly with the Wilderland campaign I'm about to launch, especially if the players focus on exploring Moria. I loved how Saruman's downfall is really a story of his emotional fragility.
