ha this is a really interesting thread on the other place...when I went to Epic in 2018 I was surprised to find that many people there thought Unity was a real threat...I'd been using Unity for the previous 2 years and I was certain it wasn't (guess I was right...)

Here is how the surfing level looked in our editor. This was one of the most complex levels to build. I spent so much time tweaking the angle, position, and shape of every ramp and gully.

Bit of feed back that i tend to give often to environment artists is simply move the camera a little and prove what your making is a 3d space. You got the freedom to show way more than one lone fixed camera and you can show loads more from older projects by playing with camera placement alone.

Fractal Sum Base is the king of noises in #SubstanceDesigner. At low roughness and low-medium Min Level it can be used for similar purposes as perlin or gaussian noise. With a high roughness setting it can step in for Clouds, BnW Spots or White Noise. #quicktip #gameart #procgen #substance3d
