We really miss Lauraโ€™s segments on 7.30. Itโ€™s almost as though the ABC have shunted her into another area as her frank assessments of the political scene were a problem for them.

I totally agree, but so long as the various governments are prepared to give tax payers money, in the form of grants, to the racing industry, I canโ€™t see it being banned.

But will he still receive income from the public purse? That is a subject not mentioned in any of the press reports.

Two people with enormous egos in the one party. That sounds like sure fire recipe for success.

Successive governments have had ample opportunity to make changes to the PRRT, but none would even broach the subject. All, including the current one led by a Weak as Piss PM, is too scared of (in the pocket of?) the mining industry.

I canโ€™t see a ban being implemented, it is so obvious that Albanese is dead scared of the lobby groups and the loss of political donations that would be involved

Yes, well done, and it clearly showed how Albaneseโ€™s attitude to FOI changed once he became PM. Bastard!

Any major bailout should be conditional on the government (we) taking a share in the enterprise. The massive bailout given to Qantas during the Covid restrictions is a good example. Much of that money went into the pocket of Joyce in the form of bonuses - for illegally sacking staff.

How can any government which claims to be responsible possibly allocate in excess of 1 billion to a bloody football stadium when hospitals and schools are crying out for funding and the state is struggling with debt.

Tasmania Cannot Afford a $3.5 Billion Stadium for the AFL This is just madness. Even Rob Sitch and Utopia could not come close to this. Andrew Wilkie in parliament todaymcriticised the AFLโ€™s demand for Tasmania to build a third AFL stadium at Macquarie Point...

Spot on. Stop the extortion.

Iโ€™ll take a look when I get back home. Cheers. Mike

I live in the Geelong and did NOT vote for him. Mainly because I phoned his local office and asked if he was going to hold a public forum for his constituents. Was told no, too busy in Canberra. Problem is, itโ€™s very much a Labor area. He does nothing for locals but gets re-elected every time

I've just spent half an hour searching the AEC site without success for the list of donors. Do they intentionally make it hard to find?

Thanks Barry. Iโ€™ll take a look, it will be interesting.

Such a pity 4 corners didnโ€™t go the next step and provide details on how much the gambling industry as a whole donates to the political parties. Im sure that has a great deal to do with the reluctance to act on the Murphy report.

06.10.2025 10:45 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 24    ๐Ÿ” 2    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 3    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

And our weak as piss government refuses to implement the ban on gambling advertising that 80% of the population want. How much is the gambling industry donating to (bribing) political parties?

05.10.2025 01:34 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 2    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Donโ€™t count on it! Albo doesnโ€™t have the backbone to stand up to Netanyahu

04.10.2025 09:23 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 3    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Albo has shown himself to be as weak as piss on so many occasions. The NACC fiasco, the Robodebt fail, the banning of gambling ads on TV, giving in to the Jewish lobby, etc.
Enough is enough Albo - either do the job you were elected (with a nice majority) to do or piss off!

Just watched Ted Oโ€™Brian on 7.30. He reinforces all that you say. Just the usual rhetoric. Labor is spending too much, but failed every time to say what he would wind back.

29.09.2025 10:18 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

With the mandate they were given, and the numbers they have in parliament, the ALP could do so many good things that are so overdue for this country, all it would take is balls, unfortunately, I doubt Albo has any!

27.09.2025 00:39 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Until the highly paid CEOs and Chairpersons are made personally responsible for the decisions they make, especially when it's to appease a minority lobby group, this type of maladministration will continue. Buttrose should be answerable for her actions!

24.09.2025 03:03 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 7    ๐Ÿ” 2    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

There is no excuse for not banning gambling ads. 80% want it. Itโ€™s only that Albo doesnโ€™t have the backbone to stand up to the industry lobby and make it law.

22.09.2025 11:48 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

We know that, but I doubt he sees it that way. I still can't understand why he and Wong went to News Corp's HQ for a meeting with them just winning gov't in 2022.

20.09.2025 05:43 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 6    ๐Ÿ” 1    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Sorry Dave, it just won't happen. Albo has shown his colours so often when it comes to implementing what the public want. No RC into the media. No banning of TV gambling ads. Donations from big business are more important, and of course he is scared of a backlash from the Murdoch Media.

20.09.2025 05:30 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 9    ๐Ÿ” 2    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Agree. Iโ€™d like to see what the result would be if all world leaders refused to engage with him. Let him take his bat and ball and play alone.

I have just returned from my annual medical checkup.
So much for Albo waving around a Medicare card and saying doctor's visits will be affordable under Labor.
Doctor's charge $95.00. Medicare refund $43.90. Cost to me $50+. Well done, Albo!!!!!

16.09.2025 04:13 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Albo is as weak as piss, and doesnโ€™t deserve to be PM. He needs to understand he is there to do the right thing by Australia, and not vested interests and donors.

12.09.2025 09:30 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

As despicable as the 7 Oct 2023 attack was, it has given Netanyahu an excuse to pursue his goal of annexing the whole of the Gaza strip, for anyone standing in his way, too bad! - that has been pretty clear from the start.

10.09.2025 06:28 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Just like the banning of gambling advertisements on tv and online. Albo is as weak as piss when it comes to implementing changes. He is wasting the mandate he was given, too scared of lobby groups and the Murdoch media.

As well as Charities, churches and pseudo-religious organisations should be made to pay tax - so many of them are engaged in commercial activates, property investing, etc. So many of their leaders are living a luxury lifestyle most of us can only dream of.
