To be clear I do NOT think that Warcraft has “lost its edge” or anything like that.

Have they pulled a couple of their punches? Maybe a little, but I don’t think it’s a problem yet.

I guess my main point here is: Don't be afraid of your own setting. Warcraft has ALWAYS had a light, silly, and fun side. It's totally fine to embrace that. But it also needs to have dark, dangerous, and brutal moments too.

Warcraft is big enough to hold space for all of those elements.

"War" in the name does and should not not make it intimidating. Star Wars is a very approachable series, and it's about wars too, obviously. It's a major example of a bad guy being "saved" before they died. But there's still a lot of Star Wars bad guys who get outright MERCED. That's important too.

So! Metzen mentioned some regrets about naming the series "Warcraft" and that it makes the series sound "Intimidating"

I wanna open by saying, given what the political climate of the US has been like, especially recently, I do get it. It has been exhausting. Horrific. We all feel it.
