Children of all varieties are sponges & we have to take care that they hold onto the correct tools for themselves. Too many parents teach what they want for themselves & not their kid.

We try. We've brought her up by treating her as an equal & guiding her (with boundaries) along her own path. My parents did not do this, they were extremely rigid in their views & even as young as H is now, I knew their views weren't kind

This is why it's important not to pigeonhole possible ASD people. Each person displays different traits and not necessarily negative ones, which many people think is the case.

But, during this process, it highlighted that I also share a lot of her traits. Things that I've done differently to others my entire life, just a quirk of mine. I'm pretty certain I have ADSD. Looking back to school, I was drawn to 'oddballs' & now wonder if we were fellow NDs recognising each.
